Lacanche Owners - Simmer Plate or Plancha

We have decided on the Sully 1800 but now have to decide on the simmer plate or the plancha. Leaning toward the plancha with the included portable simmer plate that sit over the 18K burner. If you have the plancha, do you use it and love it? How hard is it to clean? They mention a cleaning tool but I can't find pics of it or videos showing cleaning. We will also be adding the flame grill.

Hi michelledt, I just recently placed my order for the Chagny 1400. I considered the plancha but went with the French top/simmer plate instead. I concluded that I could get most of the benefit of the plancha with a removable griddle which would be much easier to clean. If you're less lazy than me, the cleanup issue might not be a factor for you.

Have you read sageabf's plancha review? She was thrilled with hers. I'll try to link the thread. It's the Lacanche thread number 42. Her comment is the second one down, I think.
