Fypon's site offers several options, but I have no idea how to determine which is the best scale for our house. Any suggestions how to go about doing this? thanks.
Please post pictures of the elevations and the fypon crown your thinking of using.
I would defer to your architect on this one! There is much that is tricky about that - size/scale etc.
I'm going to get my architect's recommendation and post back to see what you all think. thanks.
Found a textbook on the subject of classical proportioning online.
Here is a link that might be useful: From Vitruvius to Vignola
Casey, I love reading that stuff. Thanks!
I would also consider getting a copy of
Get Your House Right by Marianne Cusato et al.
with forward by H.R.H. Prince of Wales (so it must be good)
It's full of examples of how to get classical detailing right.

Thanks, we have that book and it was awesome when designing our house, but it got packed away by accident. I'll have to search for it. Thanks for reminding me!!!
