Quartz Solid Surface to Face Showers?
To eliminate grout/simplify maintenance & provide a cleaner look, we've been considering solid surface options to finish interiors of showers in our new build. We don't like the look of cultured stone or molded surrounds. It seems that quartz solid surface could work well (for example Caesarstone). But mostly they're available in only 20mm thickness (cpl mfrs offer thinner tiles and limited thinner slabs).
I'm wondering if using this material is appropriate? Seems the slabs will be hard to secure from movement, and I haven't seen it done elsewhere--which leads me to believe that there must be overwhelming reasons against.
Appreciate feedback. Is trying to use quartz solid surface a bad idea? Are there other solid surface materials to consider?
Many thanks, Mark
