Marble/Granite or Tiles for WIndow jambs; What do you have?

GemcapJune 26, 2014

This is further to the post to "A question about using bullnose tile"

Inspired by Linelle's pictures, I talked to my contractor about a similar look. He is keen on using a slab of granite / marble for the window jambs.

Why /when is marble/ granite/ quartz used as window jambs over tiles. I'd be grateful for shared experiences and pros & cons. What do you have ? Pictures would be truly helpful.

I'd trim out a window in solid surface; it can't be beat for looks and function.

I totally agree on that. You can cut it with a standard wood blade, silicone seal it and you are done!
