Poof of dust! ICK! high powered vacuum for cleaning?

BalTraMay 23, 2012

Hello all,

I have just recently noticed how horribly dusty my couch is. I vacuum it semi-regularly and assumed it was clean. Not so. My kiddo, at just the right time of day with the right amount/angle of light streaming in through the window, ran and jumped on the couch. HUGE clouds of dust puffed up into the air. YUCK.

I have a great vacuum cleaner - I thought.

I don't want to rent a chemical cleaner. I want something that will get the dust out.

I've taken the pieces outside and beat them, then vacuumed. Still poofs of dust.

Any ideas?

Thanks in advance

I am a big fan of the Miele cannister vacs that have HEPA filters. The entire system is HEPA rated... not just the filter (like cheap vacs).

Have you taken the covers off and washed them? I'm assuming they are fabric and not leather since they're accumulating dust.
