Steam-Convection Oven size?

MaversMay 21, 2013

We are looking at buying two AEG wall ovens, with one of them being a regular 30" (most likely), and the other being a steam oven.

As another poster has recently mentioned, it seems as though people often do most of their cooking in the combi oven.

We are a family of 5 and do a lot of cooking at home. Any recommendations on whether to go for the full size (74 litre), or half size (31 litre) for the steam oven. Trying to balance efficiency and energy use, with practicality!?!?

Thanks!

Many fans here for the small 24in Gagg steam combi oven. This oven only comes in 24in size. Even the 30in is trim with the same cavity. This is plenty for most people. smaller oven heats up fast, you can do multiple layers of food and steam works great. Irrespective of the brand, I would do a smaller combi steam as this is more like a microwave than a big oven with huge trays for cookies. Unless you plan to steam 100 dumplings at the same time, the small oven is perfect size.
