pentagonal main room

iabrownieApril 28, 2012

Building a new home with a master bedroom/laundry wing which angles northwest, then a pentagonal main room with walls being 17' each--this will be family room, kitchen and dining area (though there is a breakfast nook to the south) and garage that angles to the north east. In other words the home is a wide spread u! TV will be in one of the wall angles with a corner fireplace--so any ideas for how to carpet living area? Will have hardwood on the rest of the pentagon. Also would like advice on what to do with the fireplace/tv area. Thanks.

Do you have a sketch of the floor plan that you can post? I'm having a hard time visualizing how the pentagonal "main" room is divided up into areas for kitchen, dining, and TV/fireplace/living zones. A sketch might help us see what you're trying to do and would definitely make it easier to make suggestions because we could copy and paste your sketch into our Paint programs and draw on top of it.
