Curved Shower Rod in Standing Shower...will the water stay in?

gus5May 23, 2012

We just installed a 48" standing shower (no tub) and I was going to buy a curved shower rod to give us a little elbow room in the shower. I'm concerned the water will spill out onto the tile floor because of the "curve" and since there is no tub to hold the liner in. Does anyone have experience with this...I'd love any advice. Thanks!

it won't spill unless you overflow the pan but it will run down the curtain onto the floor

What do you mean by "a 48-inch shower?" I assume not 48 square, since that's a huge shower with no possible elbow room problem. We put in a shower that is about 48x32. We went with glass doors, not a curtain, but I can say that at 32 inches there is still no elbow room problem.

Thanks for your responses...this is helpful.

s8thrd: It is 48x36" ... so I appreciate hearing you don't have an elbow room problem with your shower. I'm leaning towards going with a regular curtain based on what you two said.
