Best Cleaning Solution for Rug Doctor

ljbrandtNovember 7, 2010

I am going to be cleaning my carpets tomorrow with a rented Rug Doctor. Instead of buying the overpriced and under performing shampoo that they sell, I've researched some alternatives that have worked well for other people.

My shortlist includes:

Simple Green

Krud Kutter

Have any of you used any of these solutions in a carpet cleaning machine, or better yet a rug doctor? I have read good things about all 3 products, but haven't seem any direct comparison for use in a rug doctor.

Any/all comments welcome.

P.S. - I also intend to go over the carpet with just plain hot water in the machine for a rinse.

I've rented Rug Doctors a couple of times. I bought the solutions they sell-the general detergent and also the deodorizing one. I wouldn't try it with other products, except maybe just plain old white vinegar and water. I wish you good luck, whatever you do.
