New double elecric wall oven....

Supermom74April 7, 2013

I currently have a kitchenaid double electric wall oven. before a few months ago, I was a die hard kitchenaid fan. My oven is just about 6 years old and I have already had to replace the heating element, interior light sockets, amoungst some other services. Suffice it to say, this oven is not bringing me luck!! When I had it serviced that last time, the service man said that they only make major appliances to last 5-7 years these days!!! I wasn't expecting 30 but 5-7?? Anyhow, now I am on the search for new since I don't want to put any more money into this one.
The question is, Do I go with another kitchenaid double oven and just write this one off as a lemon? Or do I jump and try another brand? I was looking at the Jenn-air but those are made by whirlpool which makes kitchenaid too!
The wolf ovens are out of my range.
I want a double convection oven too.
I think right now I am wavering between: Kitchenaid, jenn-air, electrolux, GE profile or monogram.
I would love to here your opinions!!!
Thanks in advance :)

You might want to make sure the cutout fits your choices so you can avoid expensive cabinet modifications...knowing dimensions in advance would help you shop

Good luck

I am actually remodeling my kitchen and having a space made for a new 30" double oven.

Not installed yet, so can't write about performance, but at the decision stage I went with the Electrolux Icon double convection ovens. They are 30" wide, and have lots of great functions.

The GE Profile & Monogram are the same oven with different exteriors. We have the Monogram (DH like the pro look) and my sister has the Profile--we are both very happy with their performance so far. You can often find a floor model Profile double oven on clearance for a great price at your local box stores.

Hope this helps!
