Nancy's Vintage Soak for linens

silk69July 8, 2008

I am trying to find a wholesaler distributor of Nancy's Vintage Soak. I am an

Interior Designer and find that I sell a lot of antique textiles and my clients have need of the soak. I used to sell it years ago and then the woman from whom I bought it died, her husband remarried and moved to Colorado. The source

disappeared!

Can anyone out there help me?

I do not believe it is being produced anymore. There is another that many quilters use, called Orvis soap. It is actually used for horses but you can find it online at many quilt shops.

You can also find Orvis at larger pet stores. We buy it at Feeders Supply.

I use a product called Restoration. It is made in Lancaster, PA. I was extremely impressed with the results on an old, inherited quilt that I assumed was ruined. It also worked wonders on inherited old, yellowed linens made years ago by my grandmother. I buy it on ebay at the link below, but it is probably available other places online.

Here is a link that might be useful: ebay Restoration cleaner

I see nothing on that site that tells what is in Restoration Cleaner...perhaps a bleach.
Orvis is a neutral soap...that's all.

I wash linens in baking soda and vinegar.
