removing stains/mildew from garden bench white cushion

kss1956July 24, 2010

I tried first bleach which didn't work, tried borax and vinegar, then hosed it off-not successful. It is now draped over my fence to dry. Will the sun set the stain in? Any suggestions is greatly appreciated. I would like to dye it, but it wouldn't look good with the stains.

What fabric is the cushion cover made of? Can the cover be removed from the cushion?

I agree on the fabric question... An art restorer friend of mine recommended a one-to-one combo of rubbing alcohol and water for some mildewed canvas I have... But if you've already used bleach and that didn't work, I don't know if the alcohol will do much better...
