Tile Behind Vanity with Expensive Tile?

saw50st8April 20, 2012

I just went into Ann Sacks - big mistake LOL!

I found amazing tiles (http://www.annsacks.com/onlinecatalog/program.jsp?cat=268804&coll=278204&prg=1369904) but they are really pricey.

If I end up using them, and I go with a full vanity, is it wierd not to tile behind the vanity? I would like to do full walls of tile rather than partial.

This is the bathroom layout.

From Upstairs Bathroom

I would use the blue tile along the bathtub wall with the window (and maybe the entire tub surround) and then do a coordinating white marble tile on the rest of the walls with a penny tile on the floor.

I think this tub has that Ann Sacks tile. I found it on Flickr.

Here's the picture of the blue celeste:

I think someone here has used it, but I can't remember who, sorry.

If I recall, Adex had a gorgeous crackle subway in a similar shade of blue... (Hampton? Maybe around $6/SF?)

Otherwise, it's very normal (and half as expensive) to tile the tub area and only half-way up the other water walls.
