Small Microwave suggestions ...

johnnytoobadApril 13, 2013

I'm remodeling a tiny kitchen in a tiny cottage. We have inside an Upper Cabinet room for a small Microwave. The max width is 19.5", cabinet depth is about 15.5", although the Micro could easily stick out a bit, and height is unlimited.

The cabinets have not yet been cut, I can change that width a bit, I saw a Cuisinart unit just over 20" in width, so I could change the cabinets to accommodate this, but that would impact other areas of cabinet space I'd rather not do.

I've not seen much that would fit from my initial efforts so far. Anyone know of a nice, well-made unit that'll fit ?

Thanks cheers, John

After some research, I see there are few "Compact Microwaves", generally about 0.7 cubic feet. I guess this is what I will need. I saw a Whirlpool MT4078SP that had decent reviews. Any others that would be good ?

Thanks, John

There are several that will fit that space. AJMadison allows you to set custom widths and depths etc so easy to see what all fits. Linked to the page below. Out of that list the Frigidaire FFCM0934L jumped out at me as it is .9 and 900 Watts. The .2 isn't much a difference but I think the 200 extra watts would be noticeable.

Here is a link that might be useful: AJMadison Microwaves
