Cleaning my hardwood..grooves in between planks

ajc9May 19, 2012

Hello all!

I have Bella cera hickory flooring. I love it and want to make sure I'm cleaning it correctly.

I basically vacuum it constantly! I also use bona and a rag...on my hands and knees. I dont have the bona mop...I just don't know if it would do an adequate job bc of the grooves in between the planks. I only wipe down everything (kitchen, dining, hall, office..whew!) once every couple of weeks....except for high traffic areas like by my sink and island every day or every other!

Is there a better or easier option that I'm missing?

I'm not sure I understand the benefit of hands-and-knees application of the Bona vis-a-vis the grooves. The vacuum cleaner will remove what it can from the grooves. And you aren't trying to soak the Bona into the grooves, so the mop should suffice for application.

Vacuuming is good, but I question whether you need to use the Bona that much in the kitchen.
