How do i remove gum from Carpet?

Apply ice, rub an ice cube over the gum. Then pick at it with your fingernails, or even cut it off with cuticle scissors. My daughter used to love gum, she would chew it at bedtime and it would fall out of her mouth, get all over her pillowcase and hair.
