GE CleanSteel Cleaning and Cookware

californiadreamerApril 30, 2008

I just finished a remodel and got the GE CleanSteel Series appliances. I've cooked on the range twice and don't like it yet. The cerma-bryte cleaner seems dry and I feel like I'm scratching it when I use it with a soft paper towel.

I also have apparently used the wrong cookware the two times I've used it. Sigh...I guess I will need to buy new cookware with my non-existent funds. Any recommendations on the best cookware to use?

Thank you for any advice you can provide on this!

I'm assuming yours is a flat, ceramic cooktop? I used to have one and yes, the cleaner is a bit dry. I always dampened a sponge or paper towel and then cleaned it. Then buff with a MF cloth to remove excess and make it shine. I think any flat cookware will work, just NOT cast iron because it will scratch. Hope this helps.

Your advice helped ALOT, especially the part about the damp paper towel. I also went to Sam's Club and bought a huge pack of the microfiber cloths.

I appreciate your help!! :-)
