repainting shower stall floor

susie100March 19, 2010

The previous owners of my house, when spiffing the place for sale, about 3 years ago, painted the shower stall floor; don't know what kind of paint. Said paint is now peeling pretty badly, revealing the original 1962 floor; it looks to be little rocks set in concrete; don't know if you call it an aggregate or a composite. It seems to be pretty badly stained under the peeling paint. I want to remove the peeling paint and repaint with something that won't be as prone to peeling. Do you think one of those citrus strippers would remove the rest of the paint? After I get rid of the old paint, what kind of paint do I paint it with? Some kind of epoxy? Thanks.

Terrazzo. You might even see about having someone refinish the terrazzo, unless you'd RATHER paint it.
