alternative to pasta machine

A little less expensive, though not quite as many thickness "settings"

This is an acrylic rod with O rings that slip on. You can get the acrylic rods alone in craft stores. I'll bet you could get O rings in the hardware or automotive stores.

Re: those acrylic rods... I don't have one and I know you can use other things, but I just saw an item where someone used an acrylic rod for smoothing. She covered a dollar store piggy bank with her *gorgeous* chrysantemum cane slices. Made me want to try!

Check out "pasta Machines" on EBAY..... you can get a nice one very cheaply. The rings sound good, but the pasta machine actually can condition the clay and will save you a lot of wear and tear on your hands. There are some machines for around $20.00 on EBAY today.... with cheap shipping too.
