Non-fire Translucent Glaze Stains

sudhiraJanuary 23, 2013

Many years ago ( over 30 ) I painted a Nativity Set using the Duncan "Hummell" technique. The low fired pieces were painted with ivory stain, then painted with translucent stains, the stain was wiped away after a bit leaving muted colors. I was looking to do this again but can only find the Duncan TS's in a few colors...no more, red, burgundy, purple etc...I am curious to know if anyone here might know how to make your own TS, or know of a different company, Mayco also has limited colors...thanks.

how about using stained glass paint? Translucent, lots of colors, can be mixed to make other colors.
