remove spray paint from glass

My brother in law just bought a used topper for his truck. The windows have been blacked out with black spray paint. What is a good way to remove this paint?

If the windows are glass, use a razor blade type scraper to remove the bulk of the paint, then scrub the remaining paint using a glass cleaner containing a mild abrasive. If the windows panes are plastic, you'll probably have to replace.

One can use the finest of steel wools, the least abrasive, as I have read on this forum..
But these windows could well be plastic(plexiglass)...

If the windows are official glass and not plastic, and the paint is enamel, lacquer thinner will soften it enough to remove it with a scraper.
