Diesel perf

stoveguyySeptember 6, 2012

I saw a car show where they installed a matched set of special injectors on a diesel truck. They made a point of saying they would make the truck run much better and maybe make a lot more power? Nothing was said of more boost or increased exhaust flow or stuff. At a certain load, the fuel is injected into motor. Just changing injectors MAY improve power? How is that?

If the engine was running ok before the change-out, I would expect little change in power. However, if the original set of injectors were not feeding the cylinders the same, there could be an improvment in both smoothness and output.

As you can see, a demonstration like this one can be easily rigged. All that is required is that the first set of injectors contain mismatched injectors or several badly worn ones.
