Removing Exhaust Hangers

ldj44September 16, 2006

I am installing a trailer hitch on a 2006 Hyundai Tucson and cannot figure out how to get the exhaust hangers off to lower the exhaust for the installation. Is there some trick to this? I think if I push on them too hard they're going to rip or stretch out too much so they won't go back on securely.

Thanks for any advice!

well, the rubber hangers were pretty tough on my Honda. I just pushed up on the muffler/pipe and was able to unhook them. Rehanging the exhaust wasn't too bad either.

Btw, see my thread on my experience. I hope things go far better for you.
