Bathfitters your experience with this company

Quite a number of tile are coming off in my tub area. I want to know what my options are. This is an older farm house, so I don't need something thats beautiful; just want to fix the problem.

What are my options and would Bathfitters be a good solution. Its a regular installed tube, not freestanding, with tile on the walls and ceiling.

Thanks in advance

My in-laws recently had bathfitters installed for a tub in one bathroom and a shower stall in another. Personally I don't really care for them - my opinion. The in-laws seem to be really happy with them though. I will say that they paid almost as much for those two areas as we did for an entire remodel of our master bath. Granted my husband did a lot of the work on ours, but we used marble and some other medium to high end finishes. I was shocked at the cost of the bathfitters The biggest benefit I saw was that theirs was completely done in two days.

They are perfectly functional and appear easy to clean. But, I think you should get a quote. It just seemed to me other than convenience, I didn't see a benefit over having the area re-tiled.

Maybe you've seen this? I'd sure get a few bids for just replacing the tile, if that's all you need.

If you do a search here, there've been other threads about bath fitters. A few positives, but on the whole I think the experience has mostly been like that of my neighbors who kicked themselves afterwards, since they could have done a real remodel for what the bath fitters tub cost, and it stained pretty soon, too.

Thanks for the comments. I have an appt set up with them in a few days. I got the impression it was going to be a "hard sell" since they said it would take 1 l/2 hours for the appt. I'm going to cancel.
