Can you recommend a privacy glass door?

ontariomomFebruary 16, 2013

Hi all,

We are considering putting in a privacy glass door in our main level bath that will be used by family and guests. Our hope was we could let in some light from a hall window, but we would not want to be able to see into the bath. In other words, is it possible to have 100 percent private glass but still let in light? For those of you who went with glass doors to your bath, what style of glass did you use? Are you happy with the level of privacy and light that resulted?

It is certainly possible. I'm in a hotel right now that has a glass bathroom door and we've done some experiments with visibility and distances. You have to stand right up next to it, almost touching it to look like anything other than a shadow. Of course I don't know what the specs were for this one, but our architect is recommending "satin etch" for our master bath, so you might try looking that up.
