Has anyone ever used carpet spray protector in a car? Did it work? If so, what did you use?
If your car is new and just bought from a dealer you had the option of paint sealer, fabric and carpet protection and under coating at an extra charge. Yes it does work. The fabric and carpet protection is a water repellent and
NOT a water proofing. It is Scotch Gaurd on the cloth. There are after market shops that can do the same service the dealer offers.
Scotch gaurd in a can.Same stuff the dealers charge extra for.A few years back thats what they called it at both car dealers and furniture stores. That they charged extra and you would get a certificate to make you feel all warm and fuzzy about. They would charge a heffty price to have your new car or your new sofa or recliner Scotch Gaurd protected.
My uncle worked at a furniture store for many years. He set up and delivered furniture. One of his duties was to spray Scotch gaurd on if the customer paid for it.He used the same cans you buy in a store today.Applied it the same way you do your self. One can goes a long way and the customer paid extra like $50.00 for a coach.
This is a slightly different solution, but you can also use automotive carpet protection film liek the dealers do. Just tear a pad off and stick it down. When the carpet protection film looks dirty, just replace it with a new piece. Some of it is printed dealer must remove protective cover, but the place below shoudl also have some in clear.
