Fridge opening in new home

Sophie1234February 2, 2014

Hi everyone,

I just bought a new home and the fridge opening is 34x70. I'm considering enhancing the size of the opening but I'm unsure to what.

I have been thinking of increasing it to 37x71, would that make sense? I will go back to stores to select a fridge but I would also like an opening that could accommodate future fridges, if needs be.

Thanks

Sophie

I think that really depends on the size of your kitchen. My kitchen is small & the fridge I decided to go w/ would fit in your current opening size 34x70. A larger fridge would almost be too much. However, I believe there are more refrigerators out there that will fit in the 37x71.
