Faber Hood Insert with Internal Blower- experiences?

labbieFebruary 25, 2012

Thanks to everyone on this forum- it's been infinitely valuable in our choices so far for our kitchen remodel.

We will be having a BlueStar 36" rangetop and a 42" custom wood hood made by our cabinetmaker. On the search for a hood insert and fan.

We have 5' from the rangetop to duct to an outside wall and based on what we've read and from talking to a couple of applicance places that we won't reap the most benefit for the $$ by going with an external blower, including the extra installation costs vs. going internal. Not what we wanted to hear, but we are trying to come up with Plan B.

We would like to get a 1200cfm blower, and would not need it on high most times, but we do wok cook occasionally.

One of the kitchen dealers recommend Faber to us, given that we need to go internal with fairly high cfms.

The price we've been quoted was around $1300 which is in our comfort zone, but we could go up to $2K if there was something else that would better meet our needs.

I know nothing internal will be as good as external blower, but wondering among them which could be considered 'quieter'

Thank you!
