What diameter round mirrors above 48' vanity?

eks6426February 26, 2012

I think I have decided against the wall size mirror and am now considering a round mirror with some decorative edges to give the room some "pop".

Vanity will be 48" wide and I would like to have sconces on the sides...given that mirror and sconces must fit in the 48" space above the vanity, how wide should the mirror be? I don't have sconces picked put yet, but would probably go for something taller and simple.

I would think at the very least 24",up to 30" depending on how wide your sconces are, and how much space you have on either side.

I read that for proper lighting of the face, sconces should be spaced 30 - 40 inches apart.

Is there a lighting expert out there who can chime in?
