Hilton coffee pot??

klseiverdOctober 15, 2011

Bought it today at a yard sale... was only $2 and interresting looking. VERY heavy... haven't weighed but has to be 3+ pounds. Know of hinged lid has the Hilton H. On bottom says Hilton (in script), 6-C-130A, 54 oz (capacity?), Nakazato, Japan. Then a little box with either a 10 or a 70. Figure it has to be really HEAVY silverplate... no dents, but OBVIOUS signs of use and can't see base metal poking thru.

Would love to see a picture.....sounds like perhaps hotel ware from the Hilton chain? Hotel ware is very heavily plated.

Pretty sure it's from a line of stuff made just for the Hilton chain. Found something VERY similar on Ebay, but MUCH smaller... more like an individual pot for a diner at a fancy table.

This thing weighs FOUR & A HALF POUNDS!?! COuld be old-ish... maybe 30s?? Maybe so heavy so coffee would stay hot longer?

What a great deal you found! Your coffee pot is likely silver soldered, which was rather heavy in weight and common for hotel and railroad use since it would hold up better to the frequent use.

It dates to 1970--the '70' in the box is the year it was manufactured, and couldn't be a '10' since that would pre-date the Hilton chain.
