Cast Iron Hardware Manufacturers 19th Century

summerdmOctober 3, 2013

I am in the process of restoring my Victorian home and have quite a few items of an undetermined origin.

First, does anyone recognize the manufacturer in the photo? (as far as I know it is a cast iron rim lock manufactured in the USA, circa 1890)

Second, is there some kind of online database/forum that provides comprehensive reference material? (not just for cast iron, but other metals, too)

Thank you in advance for your consideration.
