convection microwave

lrb500February 6, 2012

We have just started considering a convection microwave for our tiny Manhattan kitchen. We are doing gut renovation and are planning on doing a built in MW under the counter. Given we don't have space for 2 regular ovens, convection MW seemed like a good addition. Any opinions out there? Anything we should know or specifically look for in choosing one?

What model do you have, and what are the pros and cons?

Thanks, and apologies if this topic has been previously discussed.

An under-counter? Like the Sharp mw drawer? Or a 'normal' mw? Because putting a 'normal' one under a counter can be problematic in that it is low and the controls become hard to access/read. And a convection one needs to 'ventilate'. That is it will need more air circulating around it.
