How were these used?

These are very tiny tiles that appear to be either ivory or bone backed with bamboo. They don't seem to be bake-lite.

Any idea how these were used and what the value might be?

A search on the web for playing card tiles show there are a couple of games played with that sort of tile. Some of them showed the tiles sitting in a holder similar to domino and scrabble tiles.

Don't know, but I think they are very cool! I would have loved playing with those as a child!

Here's a site (PDF) of an auction that describes cards that sound like yours. Unfortunately there's no picture, but there's a description including the size. I believe the number underneath is what's being asked for them.
