Best root beer and grape soda is?
Spring Grove Pop for both in glass bottles
I like Dad's root beer and Welch's grape soda.
A&W is my vote for the best root beer.
Stewart's root beer and Nehi grape......but I think that Nehi is long gone. So I buy Welch's.
Stewarts root beer and grape soda both rule. ALso stewarts orange cream is just like a dreamsicle.
I like Crush Grape.
Henry Weinhart's(sp) for root beer (they're beer and hard cider brewers) and can usually be found in Costco. They come in glass bottles. A&W is a close second, then Barq's.
Crush for the grap.
I don't drink either but DGK's only like IBC Root Beer
A&W rootbeer and NuGrape was the best grape soda. Haven't seen it in YEARS!
#1 is IBC RootBeer in a bottle, Barq's a good second (can or fountain). A Root Beer float made with IBC Rootbeer and french vanilla ice cream is THE BEST!!! :-)
not normally a root beer fan- so stewarts is fine with me...
Frank's (if you can find it, it's a philly brand) does the best grape AND black cherry sodas ever.
now- birch beer? Kutztown Bottling Works does both a red AND a white birch beer that qualifies as a micro-brew.
Pennsylvania Dutch makes a pretty decent bb as well.
I used to like Snapple's root beer. Do they even make soda anymore? I really liked their orange also.
Dr. Brown's...hands down.
A & W Root Beer is the Best!
A&W is the BEST!!!
I like Stewart's root beer the best - very authentic - it tastes the way A&W used to taste.
For grape, I think nothing beats Crush, but it's impossible to find. Stewart's grape soda is also terrific, but you'll rarely find it except at specialty beverage markets. I don't like Welch's...too much carbonation and not "grapey" enough.
I personally don't like grape soda.
On the root beer, I've got to go with Sprechers.
Barq's in the original glass bottles was my favorite. I'm a little biased, though, because I grew up in Biloxi, Mississippi with the Barq's family. It's the home of Barq's RootBeer and the Barq's family still lives there. I think Katrina probably destroyed the Barqs building. I forgot to look when I was home. It doesn't taste quite the same since they sold it to the Coca-Cola Company, but it's still my favorite.
My two boys (age 9 & 10) prefer A&W because it makes the loudest burps!
Dlynn, we only drink diet Barq's now; it's the best. For a root beer float treat I'll buy a 6-pack of Abita.
Here is a link that might be useful: Abita Root Beer
Does A & W still serve the root beer in those iced mugs? Best root beer ever!
I like Stewart's root beer and grape Crush.
You can buy both from goodsoda.com. (Goodsoda also has strawberry and orange Crush.) You can also get several unique root beer brands from popsoda.com.
So you registered TODAY and rececitated this old thread to tell us where to shop instead of the grocery store in our neighborhood? You wouldn't by any chance OWN goodsoda.com would you?
IBC and Barq's is the best! A&W has too much vanilla in it...but I do like their floats at their restaurants.
I don't like grape soda so I can't help you there.
The A&W eat in restaurants still have the frosted glass. Me too for a&W.
i vote A&W for the root beer and Welch's for the grape
check out the Pop the soda shop or Galco's soda pop stop on line for some blasts from the past.
but i'd go with sprecher's root beer too.
never liked grape sodas, but i'd say nihi was the best
I live in the Northeast, and Stop & Shop is one of the bigger chains in the region. They're line of second tier sodas (root beer, cherry cola, grape, orange, birch beer) have the more flavor than some of the bigger names (Welch, A&W, Sunkist, etc.)
