frozen slush

bluelouJuly 25, 2005

I want to make a container of slush for the freezer that freezes slushy and then when you want a drink you take out about a third of a cup of the slush and mix it with pop. Would really like something like this that is low cal....any suggestions? It can contain alcohol. I just want something that is simple, good and not alot of calories for these hot summer nights.

For something to freeze slushy, it has to contain alcohol.
Try mixing a can of frozen lemon or lime aid, a can of water and a can of vodka or rum. Freeze until slushy ( at least 24 hours) and scoop out some and mix with club soda....or 7-up if you like it sweeter.

This is very good and can be kept frozen for a spell.

Vodka Slush Party Punch

INGREDIENTS:
2 cups white sugar
7 cups water
2 tablespoons instant tea powder
1 (12 fluid ounce) can frozen orange juice concentrate
1 (12 fluid ounce) can frozen lemonade concentrate
2 cups cold water
2 cups vodka
1 liter lemon-lime flavored carbonated beverage

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

DIRECTIONS:
In a 6 quart pot combine sugar and 7 cups water. Bring to boil and stir until sugar dissolves. Remove from heat. Stir in tea powder while hot. Add orange juice concentrate, lemonade concentrate and 2 cups cold water. Chill in refrigerator.
When cold mix in vodka. Pour into a plastic container leaving room on top for expansion. Freeze or 24 hours.
To serve, scoop about 1 cup into a tall glass and quickly stir in 1/3 cup lemon-lime soda.
