Surprised these haven't sold

debodunJune 22, 2013

I have two matching antique chairs I've been trying to sell at my garage sale for the past 2 years. Hardly anyone even looks at them. I thought they would be one of the first things I'd sell. For antiques, I thought the price was practically give-away at $75 for BOTH. Why aren't these selling?

I'm not an antique expert by any means, but in our area, we could pick those up for less than half of that. And only then if they are in really good condition. I bought an antique rocker that is a very similar style at Goodwill for $5.00. It does need new fabric on the seat, but other than that it's in good condition.

They are not in fashion at the moment, so your price is too high for the market. Not saying they aren't worth it, but supply & demand warrants the price. As Joyce said, you can pick up similar style at thrift stores for much less. mfrog
