Villeroy & Boch soup tureen

firstwordmanMay 11, 2010

I surely do appreciate this site :)

Could anyone help me date this soup tureen by Villeroy & Boch? I've looked several places on line but cannot find much reference to a V&B mark that spells Luxemburg without the 'o'(Luxembourg).

Thank you.

I couldn't find any more than a refrence that V and B was made in a factory in Luxembourg. Luxemburg is the German spelling.
Nor could I find anything about anything resembling that mark.
We do know that Mettlach bought up a lot of potteries in the area over times...I can only guess that your covered dish was made by one of those potteries.
From the style I would guess it's early 20th century.
