Has anyone painted their drop ceiling?

maizeylouNovember 1, 2009

We are planning on installing the "tinware" look tiles in our basement but are considering painting them to look like metal. I would love to see a picture if you have and any suggestions to make it as economical as possible. Thanks!

I just scrolled through here looking at dropped ceilings. There is a company called Ceilume.com that may have what you want without painting.

Thank you for your reply! We did decide on Armstrong tiles from HD and are in the process of painting them. The process is a bit tedious but we like the result and the cost fit our budget. We chose embossed tiles and a copper/bronze metallic paint to mimic tin.
