Renovating a Bath - Color Question

carolahbDecember 11, 2006

i'm in the middle of a budget bathroom renovation. It's a full bath, rather than a powder room. The vanity is a light brown maple. I haven't selected a vanity yet. The tiles are Laufen's Chateau Arctic white which is a light, mottled grey/white and a tiny trace of tan tones. White tub and toilet. Polished nickel fixtures. Because it functions as a guest bath, I wanted a little dressier look than the basic Pottery Barn, (but nothing too fussy), so because time is short, and I have had no luck finding anything in the stores, I thought I'd have a shower curtain and Roman shade made out of white/navy toile fabric I had. If I do that, what color would I paint the walls? Any suggestion for the vanity top?

What about pale terracotta for the walls? That would look great with the navy in the fabric. I'd coordinate the vanity with the floor tile.
