Building soffits around ducts

saxmaan1October 12, 2007

I have some supply and return soffits I need to cover up with sheetrock. I was thinking of using metal studs, the small 1.5" (or 2" ones, not sure what they are). Is this recommended? I just seems it may be easier to work with them around ducts. The last time I used them, they were very easy.

You can use 1x lumber for the most part.
