gaps and pits in new pour

dizzy8August 3, 2007

Does anyone know an online resource where I could look up how to inspect newly poured basement walls to see if gaps and pits are excessive or likely to cause a problem? There are various areas that didn't get 100% filled. I noticed as it was drying that a few areas seemed to retain moisture longer than others. If there is any patching or fixing that I should be looking for, I sure would like to bring it up early in this process! Thanks for any help you can offer.

no pro here, but I think learning to inspect yourself would be hard to do on short order.
Assuming a permit was pulled, I know concrete is inspected by the county. I would chime in my concerns during this inspection process if possible.

I discovered a leak while visiting the site of my own home. The inspection evidently didn't catch it, or maybe it wasn't appearant. My builder took care of it right though.

Keep a sharp eye out, and good luck!
