Help Identify these Slipper Chairs

ednarg27April 26, 2012

My sister gave me two slipper chairs to refinish. They were taken from my grandmother's house. Only markings were on the bottom - "DL Tipo Pallini, made in Italy"

looking for manufacturer, year, and wood type. Any help would be much appreciated. thanks!

I would call them nursing chairs rather than slipper chairs.
I would not refinish them, personally.

Italy used "fruitwood" (various hardwoods) and sometimes pine for furniture. This doesn't look like pine.

"Tipo Pallini" means "Pallini style", not a manufacturer's name I could find. That style is on the modern end - 1950s era?

Nice chairs, with good lines. I'd leave the wood natural and give them a geometric interlocked circles upholstery.
