basement floor pad

wearybuilderJuly 9, 2007

We are finishing part of our basement and are planning to use carpeting. What kind of padding should we use? 6#? 8#? or the special kind for basements that supposedly have a moisture barrier?

Thanks for your tips! I'm busy reading all the other similar threads as we speak, but was wondering about this specific issue....

The special kinds for basements would make the most sense. I wouldn't put any kind of fabric directly on the floor without moisture protection.
