DryTak Basement CT Basement Systems

kitchenconfidential2July 18, 2011

We need to dig a trench around our basement, and the company we may use advised two different methods: DryTak, or digging around perimeter and inserting a system?

Does anyone have any experience with this or with Larry Janesky's Basement Systems of CT?

You may want to get an opinion from a company that actually waterproofs basements, rather than letting the water in and pumping it back out. We have had to dig numerous jobs where previously an interior system had been installed. Interior water control systems do not take care of wet, damp, or cracking walls.

Water is a symptom, not the problem. Waterproofing which is done entirely on the outside, corrects the causes of water issues, and keeps the water out all together. Water control systems, interior, allow the water to enter in order to pump it back out. While an interior system will solve seepage issues, it often results in extremely damp basements.
