Tip on using vinyl cornerbead

Is the trick to use more or fewer screws...I having issues keeping the product from bubbling in some areas. Do you drive the screws a little below the surface???

well, no help on the vinyl stuff...I was thinking of using metal then...though vinyl would seam better in basement. Same question though...how far apart do the screws/nails go and how far do you drive them in....I think I drove them in too far on the vinyl...caused bubbling...but it still does not hug the corner in spots...I know there must be a trick...only ever did one corner before...came out ok but do not recall how many screws I used...
