Pewter Bust???

Anyone recognize this? It appears to be pewter and is about six inches tall.

See at: http://www.garlic.com/~jimd/pewter-bust.jpg

Thanks,

Jim

A quick Google search brought up an identical bust, which states only that it is made of cast metal.

Not pewter....more likely spelter. Pewter wasn't used for casting....too soft.

Thanks~

This is WEIRD!!

Unless they cast these things with identical scratches, etc, the one shown on the page to which you referred me,is the one I hold in my hand, Bungalow!

I thought those scratches was where someone scratched into the bronze color to see what metal was used.

Look at those scratches.....right side of her forhead and on her chest.

Do you think they were ALL cast to show those scratches??

Jim

When did you get it, Jim? Was it after October? You could have bought it from the auction winner.

Actually, I purchased it from an auction and it was probably part of an estate. You never know what you will come up with.
I've had some pretty good luck with buying things "by the box" and have come up with quite a few of items worth some pretty good money. Nothing in the thousands and lucky to be in the hundreds . But it does allow me to get rid of a lot of stuff I don't want very, very cheap. For example...right now I have hundreds or LPs, cassette tapes and video tapes. And a lot of music CDs, but they are still "sellable".

Thanks for all your info. I still have a bunch of boxes to go through, so I may have another question soon (smile>.

Regards,

Jim
