We are looking at a home that is for sale, and basement has several brick arches. We like the idea of them, even though they are low. We would want to repaint them. Grey? Want a cool vintage look, as we love castles, vintage items etc. Better color? Also what color for walls/ceiling. Better way to do ceiling other than tiles?

No need to paint the brick. Red brick was also used in castle basements. You can embellish to the extreme with faux or real brick slices or stone. Cosy or macabre.
