I have this chair I rescued yesterday. It's in rough shape, but very sturdy. It is put together with mortise and tenon. It has a label but its illegible. It has A. S. carved in the lower support. Any ideas?

Probably Mexican of 1950-2010s manufacture. The wood looks like the "caoba" they like to use, and the design is classic for a Mexican dining chair.
Hard to tell. But cleaned up and with a new seat you should get years of use out of it.
