Need help identifying Old Hutch

Pissaz55January 22, 2011

Hello. I am new to this forum. I think its awesome that there are resources like this out there! I need help identifying this piece. Im not a collector whatsoever so I have no knowledge of antiques. I am just trying to get some information on this piece for a friend of mine. He pulled this piece from someones house about 30 years ago. He believes it might be about 100 years old. We are looking to sell this piece so any information on makers and estimated price would really help. I have posted some links so everyone can view the piece. Thank you in advance for any help.

Well, without seeing anything more than some slightly fuzzy pictures, it appears that it might be an arts and crafts style desk. In which case your guess of about 100 years old is right on.
But I have not seen any construction details nor even a clear picture of it at all...is there glass on the top half? What is the top of the "desk" part made of?
It could very well be something made in the 1980's b y a woodworker....or even something from a modern furniture makers "Craftsman" line.

Hello. Sorry for the quality of the pictures. Thank you for some information. As to your question. The piece has no glass on the top as it is all wood and it appears to be made all of the same wood. I do not see any different grains. Heres a link to the top half and closer pic of the bottom.
